Cute Companions – Winter Tales Collection

It’s that wonderful time of year again, when as Crafters, we need no excuses to immerse ourselves in crafting to our heart’s content with Christmas not that far away. I know many of you of necessity, will have already started making your cards, but for me, September with the nights drawing in, is the perfect month to begin planning and maybe starting my Christmas card making projects.
I adore Christmas and although in many respects it is primarily a time for children, the Festive Season and all that it brings, allows me to reminisce about my own childhood days. I remember the anticipation and excitement of Christmas Eve, the joys of Christmas day, snow, frost on the window panes, tinsel, stockings, presents under the trees, sleighs, snowmen, pompom hats, mittens, tangerines, sweets and of course family and good friends and a whole array of Christmas delights. So it is these thoughts and memories that have inspired my new Winter Tales Collection.
There are 6 beautiful stamp plates in the Winter Tales collection which are full of timeless, traditional and iconic festive imagery accompanied by adorable mice, squirrels and rabbit characters. In addition to the stamp plates there is also an accompanying Cute Companions CD-Rom which boasts six beautiful hand-painted scenes to set your characters in, to create your own unique Winters tale. All of these charming scenes can be used on their own to make the most elegant and classic Christmas cards. Finally, to complete your Cute Companions collection we have produced a wonderful project DVD with Sara presenting and myself taking you step by step through almost three hours of card making projects, using both the Winter tales CD-Rom and rubber stamp sets, to inspire you. Each 6” x 6” plate in the three 'Cute Companions' collections is designed to create several different stories using a combination of characters, accessories and text. Characters can be used individually or mixed and matched between plates, as everything is drawn in proportion. You can make so many different cards for so many occasions! Using different colouring mediums such as watercolour pencils, coloured pens, Twinkling H2o’s paints, distressing inks, lacquers, chalks or just inked to give a pencil drawing effect. They come beautifully packaged with an ideas booklet and full instructions for use, so you can create beautiful stamped images even if you've never stamped before. Christmas Blessings The Christmas Story has always held a very special place in my heart as far back as I can remember. Appearing in my very first school Nativity play as a twinkling star, at the tender age of four, I want to try in this stamp plate to re-capture that innocence and magic. This Nativity set offers possibilities for creating very traditional Christmas cards. Violet the mouse is pulling her toy sheep around, leaving Jasper the Squirrel free to concentrate his shepherding efforts on the two angelic twin mice - Grace and Gabriel. This plate also includes a crib (what nativity would be complete without one!) and many other accessories to enable you to change character roles by multi-stamping.

Christmas Greetings This wonderful stamp set is especially useful when you need to send a card to distant relatives and friends. The vintage post box harks back to yesteryear and works particularly well in so many of the scenes from the Winter Tales CD-ROM. The endearing characters on this stamp set are Toby the rabbit, who is lifting baby Timothy to post his letter, little Ruby rabbit and wise old Ted the dog.

Christmas Joy I love this stamp plate because all of the delightful little characters are making their last-minute Christmas preparations and we all know how exciting that feels. Fred is hauling a huge stack of presents, while Jeremy strains to put the star on top of the tree. They’re accompanied by Ginger the squirrel dancing with delight and her best friend, Joy the mouse.
